The Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has completed a four day Bambi bucket training course, with SR3 Rescue Concepts, using their recently acquired H125 and an SEI BB1214, 144 Gallon Bambi Bucket weighing in at approximately 1,200 pounds.
The training will provide an invaluable service to the community when fire season arrives to suppress wild fires in the region. San Diego County SD and SR3’s Instructor Pilot Tony Weber, brought approximately 40 years of experience fighting wildfires in the mountains of Southern California.
The training primary focused on safety, tactics and practical exercises and the final day they completed an evaluation of the aircrews working as they normally would without an instructor on board, with SR3 instructors evaluating and providing insight as to their overall performance.
